The operator of yoga2go, Terri Damiani, has been practicing and teaching yoga for over 18 years; from the very first class it was love. Extensively trained, with a wide variety of teaching experience, Terri is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher, completing her Intermediate Junior II level of international certification. Fortunate to study with many certified senior Canadian/International teachers in the Iyengar tradition, she is committed to on-going training and professional development. Her unique blend of precision and humour creates an atmosphere for growth and advancement in a fun and supportive environment. Terri is a life-long student of timeless wisdom from all modalities.
Many studies support increased productivity with employee satisfaction and health; yoga is a natural bridge for the two. yoga2go was part of the original corporate wellness planning for the City of Calgary and provided tailored lunch yoga programs in boardrooms across the city. Other corporate clients contracting health services for employees include Alberta Research Council, VANOC, BC Justice dept, UBC, NetApp, and General Paint.
yoga2go was contracted to supplement dry-land training for the Royal AAA and Farrow AA Hockey Association for Bantam hockey players. Terri has worked with several local rugby players to balance their heavy muscle training sessions with flexibility and balance training, achieving great results. Terri has a special interest in seniors and yoga and has witnessed tremendous improvement in the quality of life of seniors who engage in a regular yoga practice. She has worked with the Kinesiology Department at UBC and the Heart and Stroke Foundation Templeton Branch providing yoga services to older adults. Presently she instructs a bi-weekly yoga for older adults class at the lovely Creekside Community Centre.
yoga2go believes it is important to be involved in the community and has volunteered to provide therapeutic yoga services for Friends for Life, a non-profit organization that assists clients with life threatening disease explore alternative methods of healing. For several years yoga2go partnered with BC Cancer and the Underwear Affair supporting their fund raising efforts by leading 1,100 participants in a series of stretches prior to the walk,
